Seasonal Tires for Spring & Summer

April 7, 2025

As winter fades and warmer weather settles in, it is time to think about tires that match spring and summer driving. April is a practical month to swap winter tires (if you still have them mounted) for something better suited to warmer roads—especially if your winter set is wearing or heat-soaking on hot pavement.

At CFI Tire Service, we carry a wide range of tires for cars, light trucks, and SUVs—including summer, high performance, ultra high performance, and all-season options—so you can match the tire to your vehicle and how you drive.

Summer tires

Summer tires use rubber compounds and tread patterns tuned for warm conditions. They typically deliver strong grip and handling on dry and wet roads during spring and summer, with responsive braking and often lower rolling resistance than aggressive winter designs.

High performance tires

If you want sharper steering response and stability at higher speeds, HP tires are a popular choice. They often carry H or V speed ratings and suit sportier daily drivers that see spirited cornering in fair weather.

Ultra high performance tires

UHP tires target maximum grip and cornering precision for performance cars and high-end sedans. They trade some cold-weather flexibility and tread life for peak warm-weather capability—ideal when your priority is handling, not year-round snow traction.

All-season tires

All-season tires aim for convenience: reasonable performance across a wide temperature band, including light winter conditions for some drivers. They may not match a dedicated summer tire on a hot day or a dedicated winter tire on ice, but one set year-round can be the right compromise depending on where you live and how you drive.

Choosing the right tires for you

Consider your driving habits, vehicle type, and typical weather. Our staff can help you compare options in Council Bluffs and Glenwood so you leave with a set that fits your goals—not just the lowest price or the most aggressive tread on the wall.
